Nate Hand Gesture is not a fair game of rock-paper-scissors. The entity on the other side rigs every round based on her mood — so the way to win is to read her, not to count cards. Here is what actually works.
In a normal RPS game each throw has a one-in-three chance. Here it does not. The developer built the duel so the entity can let you win outright or make you lose every throw, depending on her current mood. Spamming the same throw or switching randomly both fail — the round outcome is decided before you even show your hand.
Before each match, pause and read how she is acting. Her mood is the only thing that predicts the round. If she looks pleased or settled, she is in a mood where she will let a win through. If she turns cold or hostile, she is about to beat whatever you throw.
When she is hostile, every throw loses. Pushing harder just feeds her. The winning move is to stop forcing a win that round and let the duel settle, so her mood can swing back.
Counter-intuitively, winning too aggressively early can turn her against you. Part of surviving is letting her have the round she wants — the demo rewards restraint, not dominance.
There is one main route, but it branches. How you handle each duel shapes which exit you reach. Keep her mood balanced: don't crush her, don't let her feed on you. That middle line is what keeps you on the escape route instead of the death routes.
There are three distinct death endings plus several others. To reach them, stop managing her mood: keep aggravating her until she turns hostile and wins every round. See the full endings guide for what each ending looks like.
The duel has a body-horror cost: repeated losses cost you fingers. Push too far and you reach the graphic death endings. If you are going for the "all endings" run, expect to lose fingers on purpose — and remember that save data lives in the Windows registry, not a save file, so it survives a reinstall. See troubleshooting for how to wipe it.
No. There is no throw that always wins. The only "cheat" is reading her mood correctly.
No. She beats whatever you throw when hostile, regardless of pattern.
The demo is short — most players finish one route in a single sitting, which is why it spreads so well on TikTok and Shorts.
